Harold L. 'Papa' Boles Sr. of 176 Crawford Dr. Hermitage, PA, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 3:33 p.m. in his residence. He was 84.

Mr. Boles was born in Sharpsville, PA on September 14, 1926, a son of Kermit and Edith Lutton Boles Sr.

He attended Hickory High School. Following high school he served in the United State Navy during World War II.

Harold was employed for 37 years as a truck driver for Westinghouse Electric Corporation. Following his retirement from Westinghouse, Mr. Boles drove truck for Jones Performance in W. Middlesex for 6 years. Harold and his son Gerry worked together for Peregrine Management Group in South San Francisco, CA assisting in environmental clean up efforts through out the country.

Mr. Boles was a member of Grace Chapel Community Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of many sportsmen's clubs such as the Western Reserve Sportsman's Club, NRA, and the Pennsylvania Sportsman's Club. Harold was a member of Teamsters Local 261 in New Castle. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and previously was the manager of youth baseball in Patagonia. His biggest attribute was always being there for family and friends.

His wife, Jo Anne E. Steele Boles, whom he married, December 19, 1958, passed away on June 23, 2010.

He is survived by: 2 sons, Gerry Boles and his fiancé Tracey of Hermitage, Harold and his wife Mary Kay Boles of Mechanicsburg, PA; 2 daughters, Patricia and her husband Roger Eckard of Transfer, PA; Cindy and her husband Robert Schweiss Jr. of Masury, OH; 3 brothers, Raymond E. and his wife Rosy Boles of Hermitage, Dale C. and his wife Beverly Boles of Florida, and Jim J. and his wife Levon Boles of Hermitage; 13 grandchildren, Cheyenne, Sherry, Nathan L., Nicholas C. Gerald A. Boles, Charles R. Wedge, Regina M. Hutchinson, Linda, Brandi Lee, Jonathan, Megan Boles, Chris Luce, and Shane L. Eckard; 6 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Harold was preceded in death by a son, Edward F. Boles; a daughter, Sherry Lynn Martin; a granddaughter, Amber L. Boles; a brother, Kermit Boles Jr.

Calling Hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2010 in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon, PA 16146.

A funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 3, 2010 in the funeral home, with Rev. Larry Haynes, pastor of Grace Chapel Community Church.

Burial will take place at Westside Cemetery.
