Hannah Marie Stewart, formerly of Shenango Park Apartments, Hermitage, passed away at 10 p.m. Monday (3-22-10) in Clepper Manor, Sharon, where she was a resident for the past year and a half. She was 88.
Mrs. Stewart was born November 9, 1921 in Hastings, PA a daughter of the late John J. and Addie Mae Mason Murphy.
She was educated in Hastings and moved to the area in the late 1970's.
Mrs. Stewart was a homemaker and a former member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Ambridge, PA.
Her husband, Robert K. Stewart, whom she married February 6, 1950, passed away February 8, 1970.
Surviving are: four daughters, Linda Savach and her husband Steve, Masury, Ohio; Karen P. Laskey, Sharon; Donna M. Defer and her husband Kerry, Garrettsville, Ohio; and Carol Lynn Gardner and her husband Mike, Mercer; a son, John 'Jack' Altemus and his wife Patsy, New York; a sister, Elizabeth 'Betty' Sink, Home, PA; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Hannah was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia 'Sis' Luther and Patricia 'Patty' Durf; and two brothers, Donald and John 'Jack' Murphy.
The family would like to thank the staff at Clepper Manor for their exceptional care.
