December 18, 1930 – February 18, 2016
H. Ralph Fisher of South Pymatuning Township, formerly of Service Avenue, Sharon, passed away at 12:32 p.m. Thursday (2-18-16) in St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, following a brief illness. He was 85.
He was born Dec. 18, 1930, in Sharon, one of two sons born to William T. and Carolyn Rowe Fisher.
Ralph was raised in Sharon and graduated from Sharon High School in 1948.
He worked for 22 years at the former Abe Cohen Auto Parts Store on Budd Street, Sharon, and retired from Commercial Truck and Trailer Inc., Girard, Ohio.
He was a dedicated member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Hermitage.
Ralph was a member of the former Lodge 250, Sharon, which merged with Kedron Lodge 389, West Middlesex. A 32nd-degree mason, he belonged to the Scottish Rite, Valley of New Castle Consistory.
Ralph was well known in the bowling community in Mercer County, where he was a charter board member, past president and treasurer of the Mercer County Bowling Hall of Fame. He was a life member and past president of the board of directors for the Pennsylvania State Bowling Association; he was the last living member of the PSBA Hall of Fame in Mercer County.
His wife, the former Phyllis Jane Thomas, whom he married Nov. 17, 1950, passed away Jan. 10, 2016.
He is survived by: his three daughters, Karen Lee Bell and her husband Gary, Bowling Green, Ohio; Doris Gayle Lapikas and her husband Daniel, with whom he lived; and Patricia Lynn Caughman and her husband James, Houston; two grandchildren, Kimbrough Polinsky and Thomas Caughman; one great-granddaughter, Lee Ann Polinsky; one step-grandson, David Lapikas; and two step-great-grandsons, Daniel and Noah Lapikas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his son, Lawrence Thomas "Larry" Fisher, who passed away at the young age of 8 years old in 1977; a grandson, Bryan Bell; and his brother, Charles T. Fisher.
A devout Christian and leader in his church, Ralph was honored annually for 77 years with extraordinary perfect attendance to both church services and Sunday school, where he was a teacher.

Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday (2-23-16) in the J. BRADLEY McGONIGLE FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY, 1090 E. State St. Sharon. A Masonic memorial service will begin at 6:45 p.m. He will lie in state at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Hermitage from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday (2-24-16).
Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday (2-24-16) in St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Hermitage, with the Rev. David J. Williamson, pastor officiating.
Interment: America's Cemetery, Hermitage.
