Dr. H. Robert Crago, 92, formerly of Hermitage and Sharon, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024, in Statesboro, Georgia after a brief illness. Dr. Crago was born on March 6, 1932, in Schenectady, New York, the son of the late Harry Robert Crago, Sr. and Sylvia (McMillan) Crago.
He graduated from Princeton University in 1954 and went on to medical school at Columbia University. While in medical school, he married Barbara S. Smith on August 25, 1956, and they went on to raise three children together. After completing a general surgery residency, he began private practice in Sharon in 1967. He held many leadership positions at Sharon Regional Medical Center, including Chief of Surgery, prior to retiring in 2002. Barbara and Bob spent their retirement enjoying their family, playing bridge and golf, traveling and volunteering. Barbara passed away in 2009.
In 2017, Bob married Linda Stilley. They moved to Statesboro, Georgia in 2018 and enjoyed seven years together away from the long Pennsylvania winters.
In addition to his wife, Dr Crago is survived by his daughter, Patricia A. Hensley and her husband, Richard, of Akron, OH; two sons, Dr. Robert C. Crago and his wife, Mira, of Wrentham, MA, and Dr. Matthew D. Crago and his wife, Morrigan, of Sharon; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel, and Reed Hensley; Madelyn, Matthew, Colin and Erin Crago.
