Grayce L. Shaffer of Hermitage passed away at 1:43 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, in her residence. She was 74.
Mrs. Shaffer was born in Sharon on May 12, 1941, a daughter of Wilbert T. and Elva Richards Hackett.
She was a graduate of Brookfield High School.
Grayce was a cashier for G.C. Murphy's in downtown Sharon for many years.
Mrs. Shaffer attended St. John's Episcopal Church, Sharon.
She enjoyed attending senior days at the Salvation Army and crafts. Grayce cherished her time spent with family and friends.
Her husband, James A. Shaffer Sr., whom she married Nov. 24, 1960, passed away on March 21, 1986.
She is survived by a son, James A. (Lynda) Shaffer Jr., Palatka, Fla.; a brother, Richard (Judy) Hackett, Masury; and four grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Grayce was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Hackett Jr.; and a sister, Sandra Setterberg.
