Obituary

Grace P. Olds, John XXIII Home, Hermitage, and formerly of Sherman Ave., Sharon, Pa. passed away peacefully at 5:15 a.m. on Sunday (2-21-10) in the home with family at her side. She was 88.

Grace was born on November 4, 1921 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of Jack and Grace Bowen.

She graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1940.

In her early years, she was employed at The Packard Electric Company in Warren, Ohio.

She also enjoyed working for Chuck Garrett in years past transporting the special needs children for the former Mercer County Crippled Children's Association.

She retired with 14 years of service from Automatic Vending Company, Warren, Ohio where she was responsible for stocking and maintaining machines at both Wheatland Tube and the former Sharon Steel Corporation's Farrell Plant.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sharon for 50 years. The family would like to thank both Staffs of Bently House and John XXIII Home for their compasion and care show to our mother during her stay.

Her husband Elga N. Olds, whom she married on November 29, 1940, passed away on June 18, 1999.

She is survived by her three daughters, Beverly L. Daugherty and her husband William, and Donna R. Shaffer and her husband Robert, all Hermitage, and Nancy L. Olds, Bazetta Township, OH; two grandsons Paul Daugherty, and David Daugherty and his wife Jennifer; her two great grandchildren, Noah and Rebecca Daugherty.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the First Baptist Church, 301 W. State St. Sharon.

Calling hours: 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday (2-23-10) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon.

Funeral Service and Committal: 7:00 p.m. Tuesday (2-23-10) in the funeral Home chapel with Rev. John M. Trojak, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
