Goldie M. Weldon Ritter, 301 S. Oakdale Ave., Hermitage, PA passed away at 8 p.m. Sunday (10-18-09) in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. She was 85.
Mrs. Ritter was born April 19, 1924 in Farrell, PA a daughter of the late Jacob and Rose Koss Mikulin.
A lifelong area resident she was a 1942 graduate of Farrell High School.
She retired in March of 1988 from Mercer County Children and Youth Services where she was employed as the secretary to the Executive Director for approximately ten years. She previously worked at Roemer Industries, Sharon; and the former Sharon Transformer Division of the Westinghouse Electric Corp.
Goldie was a charter member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, and a former member of its Ave Maria Society. She was also a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union (CFU) Lodge 126, Farrell.
Her first husband, John H. Weldon, whom she married December 6, 1946, passed away November 7, 1973. Her second husband, Ernest E. Ritter, whom she married September 9, 1978, passed away July 23, 1983.
Surviving are: two daughters, Diane Conn and her husband Richard E., Allentown, PA; and Cynthia Pacifico and her husband Donald, Buckeye, AZ; a son, Dennis Weldon and his wife Charlotte, Raleigh, NC; three grandchildren, Timothy Weldon, Christopher Weldon and Anthony Pacifico; a sister, Helen DeGeorge, Penn Hills section of Pittsburgh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and two husbands, Goldie was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Weldon, who passed away February 1, 2002; three sisters, Barbara Voytko, Mary Schenker and Ann Jurisek; and three brothers, Steven, Frank and John Mikulin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to John XXIII Home, 2250 Shenango Valley Freeway; or Church of Notre Dame 2325 Notre Dame Highland Rd., both Hermitage, PA 16148.
