Obituary

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday for Gloria V. Rivetti, Wengler Ave., Sharon, who passed away peacefully at 10:15 p.m. on Friday (9-25-09) in Shenango Presbyterian Senior Care, New Wilmington of natural causes. She was 85.
She was born on February 1, 1924 in Sharon, the daughter of John and Mayme Ciminero DeCapua.
A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Sharon High School in 1941.
Prior to her marriage, she worked at the former GATX Corporation, Masury, and the former Petrini Insurance Company, Sharon. After her marriage, she joined her Marine husband Cle in Washington DC and worked for and accomplished Professor and Editor at Forbes Magazine as his administrative assistant. In addition, she was the typist and proof reader for his published book about the post war economy.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon.
She was a veracious reader and was a member of several local book clubs over the years. She attended numerous religious retreats throughout her adult life. A quintessential mother and wonderful homemaker, Gloria was an excellent cook specializing in Italian Cuisine. A renowned seamstress and fashion designer, she created a great deal of her own clothing and those of her children. Gloria was a precious gift to all she encountered, her intuitive, creative mind, sparkling eyes and angelic smile forever will be in the mind of those who knew her.
Her husband Clement Rivetti whom she married on March 7, 1945, passed away on December 5, 1992.
She leaves her two daughters, Vicki Lingner and her husband Richard M., Brookfield, and Regina Rivetti, Taos, New Mexico, two sons, David Rivetti, Carmel, California, and Dr. Daniel Rivetti, San Diego, California, Three sisters, Norma Reardon, Sharon, Gerrie Derr and her husband Gene, Sharpsville, and Patricia Carnes and her husband Paul, Hermitage, her brother in law, Ed Ceremuga, Hermitage, her grandchildren, Jasmine Confer and her husband Duane, Newport NC; Jhade Smith, Las Vegas, Nevada; Carlo, Nico, Gianni, Michael, Carmel, California; Lexi, Clemente and Isabella Rivetti, San Diego, California; and two great grandchildren, Tyler and Hunter Confer; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces, and great nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Alfred 'Sonny' DeCapua, and her sister Mary Lou Ceremuga.
Gloria's children wish to thank the director and staff of the Bentley House, Hermitage, since her arrival at the facility in 2006, they too have been her family. Gloria has spent the last month of her life in Shenango Presbyterian Senior Care, New Wilmington where she also received exceptional care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to her 'earth angels' at Sharon Regional Hospice, 2320 Highland Road, Hermitage, Pa. 16148.

Services and committal prayers: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday (9-30-09) at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church with Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor, as celebrant. A procession will leave for the church at 9:30 a.m.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
