Gladys M. "Skip" Santelli of John XXIII Home, formerly of Mertz Tower, Sharpsville and Wakefield Dr., Hermitage, passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012 in John XXIII Home. She was 83.
Mrs. Santelli was born June 6, 1928 in Sharpsville, the daughter of Robert Milton and Lenora Alderman Templeton.
She attended Hermitage Schools.
Prior to her marriage, Gladys was employed as a sales associate at Jenny's Shop and Jean's Frock's, Sharon. The family then relocated to Cheektowaga, NY in 1955. She returned to the valley in 1966 and worked for Garrick's Clothing and The French Door, both Sharon. She retired in 1994 from the Globe Restaurant, Hubbard, OH where she was a waitress for 13 years.
She was an avid Bingo player at the Sharon American Legion and enjoyed playing cards with her friends at the Mertz Towers. Gladys was a very active participant of all activities at Mertz Tower community. Earlier in her life, she also enjoyed bowling.
Her husband, Samuel Vincent Santelli, whom she married July 9, 1950, passed away May 5, 1966.
She is survived by three daughters, Karen Zagger and her husband Ronald, Sharpsville, Kathleen Hornyak and her husband Joseph, Hermitage and Lynda Mundis, Hermitage; four sisters, Patricia Varkonda and her husband George, Hermitage, Esther Boyle, Sharon, Joan Polkovitch, Sharpsville and Mary Ellen Bennett, Sharpsville; a brother Paul Templeton and his wife Carol, Conneaut Lake; four grandchildren, Zachary Zagger, Samuel Harkless and his wife Kelly, June Marie Bindas and her husband Kevin and Joseph Hornyak; three great-grandchildren, Lauren and Audrey Harkless and Aidan Bindas. Gladys is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Evans and Ruth Hughes; three brothers, Robert Rye, Charles, and Warren 'Perry' Templeton; a son-in-law, Forrest Mundis.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Marc Stockton.
Inurnment: will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
