Gina (Comunale) LaCamera, 50, formerly of Hermitage, passed away Wednesday evening, January 9, 2019, in Clepper Manor CCRC, Sharon, following an extended illness.

Gina was born May 2, 1968, in Sharon, a daughter of Marlene (Planchak) Comunale.  A 1986 graduate of Sharon High School, she also graduated cum laude from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in nursing and a minor in psychology.

Prior to her illness, Gina was employed for many years as a registered nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Youngstown, OH, and later at Sharon Regional Medical Center.

Gina was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage.

She adored her children and loved to entertain them and those she worked with at the Sycamore Center in Hermitage. A phenomenal cook, Gina looked forward to preparing meals for her family and friends. She also enjoyed riding her bike, shopping and volunteered for Meals-On-Wheels.

She is surviving by her mother, Marlene (Planchak) Comunale, of Sharon; two daughters, Kelsey N. Anderson, of Sharon, and Kristen R. LaCamera, of Hermitage; a son, Kevin M. LaCamera, also of Hermitage; three sisters, Lisa Zdral and her husband John, of Yorba Linda, CA, Sharon Comunale, of Grants Pass, Oregon, and Heidi Solomon-Orlick and her husband David, of Henniker, New Hampshire; and two grandchildren, James and Kaitlyn Anderson. She is also survived by her former husband, Francis "Chookie" LaCamera and his wife Katie, of Hermitage.

Gina was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Comunale.

Calling hours will be 1 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday (01/13/2019) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.

Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Sunday, in the funeral home.
