Gertrude Catherine Wischerman

Gertrude Catherine Wischerman, 76, of New Castle, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in Kadima Rehabilitation & Nursing, New Castle.

Cathy was born May 18, 1950, in Butler, a daughter of the late Dale Ealy and Emma (Kennedy) Carna. She was a 1968 graduate of New Castle High School.

She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Bessemer.

Cathy served as a VFW auxiliary member at VFW Post #315, New Castle.

A dedicated homemaker, she loved taking road trips and was an avid BINGO player.

Cathy is survived by three sons, Frank Joseph and his wife, Juanita, Harrisville, PA, Gary Joseph, and John Raymond Helmuth, Jr., both of New Castle; five sisters, Gayle Suisi, Patricia Withers, Diana Book, Ann Carna, and Cheryl Carna; 11 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; an ex-daughter in law, Dawn Raisley; and her beloved dog, Bingo.

In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Joseph, two sisters, Sharon Runyon, and Angel Ealy; two brothers, Dale Ealy, Jr. and Frank Carna, Jr; and three ex-husbands, Frank Joseph, Sr., John Helmuth, Sr., and Bob Patrick.

Calling hours will be 1 p.m. until the time of service Monday (6-15-26) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

Funeral service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Gregg Simpson, officiating.

Interment: Valley View Cemetery, New Castle
