Gertrude Katherine Ruhley of Hermitage, formerly a longtime resident of Sharon, passed away peacefully at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018, in Sharon Regional Health Center with her sister at her side.
She was 94.
Gertrude was born October 1, 1923, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Daniel L. and Katherine (Donnelly) Ruhley.
A lifelong area resident, she attended the former Sacred Heart Parochial Grade School and was a 1941 graduate of Sharon High School.
Gertrude enjoyed the many luncheons with the girls from her graduating class who were known as "The Golden Girls."
She was employed as a secretary at the former Sawhill Tubular Products-Division of Cyclops with 42 years of service and retired in 1985.
Gertrude was a member of St. Joseph Church and a former member of Church of the Sacred Heart, both in Sharon.
She was also a former member of the Junior Women's Club and participated in their "Follies."
She is survived by a sister, Rosemary Ruhley, of Hermitage.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel F. Ruhley.
