Gerald P. 'Jerry' 'Chico' Morocco, 1049 Hamilton Ave., Farrell, passed away unexpectedly at 2:12 a.m. Sunday (3-7-10) in his home. He was 67.
Mr. Morocco was born March 22, 1942 in Farrell a son of the late Joseph and Alice Grande Morocco.
A lifelong Farrell resident, he was a member of the class of '61 at Farrell High School.
Jerry retired in 1991 from the City of Farrell where he was a loyal employee in the public works department for 26 years; and previously worked at Sharon Steel Corporation's former Farrell plant.
He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell. Jerry was a caring man who was always willing to help a friend or family member in need. He enjoyed spending time with his family and cherished his many pets that he cared for throughout the years. He was infamous for the meticulous care of his many cars and his home.
Surviving are: his former wife, the former Laurel Elaine Stinedurf, whom he married March 14, 1975. Although they divorced later in life, they always maintained a very special relationship. He also leaves a son, Gerald P. (Jerry) Morocco, Jr. and his wife Tammy, Farrell; two daughters, Pamela Gilliland and her husband Randy, Mesa, AZ; and Kimberly Parquette and her fiancé Mark Unrue, Hermitage; four grandchildren, Anthony Lazich, Christopher Lazich, Robert Parquette and Kristin Parquette; two great grandchildren, Christina Lazich and Brian Lazich; three brothers, Carmen Morocco and his wife Virginia, Hubbard, Ohio; Joseph Morocco and Michael Morocco, both Farrell; several cousins and their families; and a special lifelong friend, Pete Toriello, Farrell. Jerry will be sadly missed by all of his friends and family members.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Mercer County, P.O. Box1046 Hermitage, PA 16148 in his memory.
Calling hours will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday (3-9-10) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Closing prayers at the funeral home will be 9:45 a.m. Wednesday (3-10-10) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell, with the Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
