Obituary

Georgia A. Slattery Baker, formerly of Jamestown, passed away following an extended illness at 7:35 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016, in Clepper Manor, Sharon, where she was a resident for the past ten months. She was 70.

Georgia was born May 5, 1945, in Sharon, a daughter of Michael and Margaret Duleba Safin. She retired from Wheatland Tube Co. where she was employed for many years.

Georgia enjoyed cooking, shopping, going to flea markets and spending time with her grandchildren, whom she was affectionately known as Nana.

Her first husband, Tom Slattery, whom she married in 1966, passed away March 6, 1992.

Surviving are: her husband of 12 years, Charles Baker, Jamestown; a daughter, Mona A. Nakich and her husband Shawn and their children, Marco and Geno, Farrell; a son, Timothy Slattery and his children, Cassie, Kayla, Brandon and Erica, Greenville; a great granddaughter, Ava Sellars; a brother, Lewis Sarcinella and his wife Marcia, Tracy, CA; and two sisters, Margie DiFeo, Palm Springs, CA; and Michalene "Mickey" Magnu, Texas.

Besides her first husband, Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James V. Sarcinella; a sister, Veronica "Roni" Brum; a daughter-in-law, Melinda Slattery; and her step-father, Lewis Sarcinella.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Keystone Blind Association, 3056 E. State St., Hermitage, PA 16148.

At Georgia's request, there are no calling hours.


A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
