George Jackson 'Jack' Truman, 8132 State Rt. 609, Burghill, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at 3 p.m. Saturday (8-20-11) in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was 63.

Mr. Truman was born June 23, 1948 in Nebo (Clay County), West Virginia a son of the late Holly Truman and Myrtle Green Truman.

He was educated in Nebo and served with the US Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Korea.

Jack was a foreman for Casey Equipment, Campbell, Ohio where he was employed for the past twenty years. He previously worked at Sharon Steel Corporation's former Farrell plant and Ivor J. Lee, Inc., Masury, Ohio.

Jack loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed tinkering with anything that had a motor and watching western movies on television.

Surviving are: his wife at home, the former Evelyn B. Mihalchick, whom he married in 1977; three daughters, Teresa J. Truman, Howland Township, Trumbull County, Ohio; Lisa A. Russell and her husband David, Pulaski, Lawrence County, PA; and Cindy Truman, Adrian, Michigan; seven grandchildren; one great grandson; and a brother, Okey Truman, Kentucky.

Besides his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a daughter, Eileen Brinker; a sister, Annie Cross; and three brothers, Andy, Anthony and Lloyd Greathouse.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.

Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday (8-26-11) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
