George Ryle Maybee of Sharon passed away at 2:06 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, in his residence, following an extended illness. He was 67.

Mr. Maybee was born January 31, 1950, in Sharon, a son of Jess and Myrtle Sprow Maybee.  He attended Howland (Ohio) High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

George retired as a draftsman in 1999 from T. Bruce Sales, West Middlesex, where he was employed for 30 years.

He attended Victory Christian Center, Coitsville, Ohio.

An outdoorsman, George loved hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed bowling and golfing, and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Surviving are: his wife, the former Randy E. Brannon, whom he married January 29, 1984; four daughters, Kathleen Huff, West Middlesex; Georgia Maybee, Sharon; Jennifer Maybee, Hermitage; and Lori Hivner and her husband Douglas, Hubbard, Oh; a son, Timothy Alfonsi and his fiancé Delrena Deans, Sharon; three sisters, Marilyn Barker, Georgia; Betty Lloyd, Florida; and Darla Martin, Mineral Ridge, Oh; and three brothers, Jess Maybee and his wife Sandra, Hartford, Oh; Elton Maybee and his wife Nancy, Niles, Oh; and Rick Maybee and his wife Linda, Austintown, Oh.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

George was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Monica Koewacich.

Calling hours will be from 2 p.m. until the time of service Monday ( 4-24-17 ) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State Street, Sharon.

Funeral service will be 5 p.m. Monday , in the funeral home, with Pastor Carol Hutchins, of Victory Christian Center, Coitsville, Oh, officiating.

Military honors will be rendered at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.

Interment: Haywood Cemetery, West Middlesex.
