George Manos, 479 Carley Ave., Sharon, passed away unexpectedly at 11:05 p.m. Sunday (3-11-12) in the Emergency Room of Sharon Regional Health System following an extended illness. He was 79.
He was born August 26, 1932 in New Castle, Pa., the son of Michael and Lena Napolian Manos. He graduated from New Castle High School in 1950. A decorated veteran, he was honorably discharged from the United States Army after serving during the Korean War.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Sharpsville.
Mr. Manos was an entrepreneur and owned and operated three of his own business's. He was the owner of Pro-Maid/Pro-Made, Inc., a janitorial/construction corporation as well as Pro-Temp Human Resources.
George was a familiar face at the former Sharon Country Club where he served on their board of directors. In his early days he was a standout softball pitcher in the New Castle softball leagues and he also enjoyed bowling. In past years, he also enjoyed a round of golf, and fishing and hunting with his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother Lena Manos, New Castle, his four daughters, Marlee A. Juranovich and her husband William with whom he lived, Patty A. Cole and her husband Ron, Hermitage, Faye E. Quinn and her husband Jimmy, New Castle, Michele L. Flanagan, Elyria, Ohio, his two sons, George M. Manos and his wife Paula, and John R. Manos and his wife Brenda, all of New Castle; his sister, Rosalie Georgiadis and her husband George, Arlington Va., and two brothers, Samuel J. Manos and his wife Lillian J. of Deltona, Fl; and Michael P. Manos and his wife Patricia, Port Orange, FL; 12 grandchildren, Ashlei Davidson, Andrew Manos, Lyndsey and Luke Manos, Ryan Kwolek, Hannah Grace Seligson, Markee and Nicholas Juranovich, Meredith, Bryan, Kelly, and Michael Flanagan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Manos and his son-in-Law, Martin Robert Flanagan.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests that anyone wishing to make a memorial donation in his memory to please consider the George Manos charitable Trust through the funeral home.

Services: A memorial service will begin at 5:00 p.m. Thursday (3-15-12) in the First United Methodist Church, 148 E. Shenango St. Sharpsville, with Rev. Ralph P. Cotten, pastor officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Sharon Honor Guard.
