Obituary

George G. Heimburger, Jr., formerly of Dutch Lane, Hermitage, passed away at 3:32 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012, in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell, after an extended illness. He was 77.
Mr. Heimburger was born August 25, 1934 in West Middlesex a son of the late George G. and Elma McFarland Heimburger.
He retired in 1985 from Penn DOT where he was employed for twenty five years.
George was a Jehovah's Witness and was very active in his faith. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Hann Hill Rd. in Hermitage.
George loved music and was a self taught drummer. He also enjoyed sports, particularly baseball and football, and was a fan of the Pittsburgh professional teams.
Surviving are: a sister, Drenna Heimburger, Hermitage; two step-sisters, Betty Granger and Laura Yarzab, both Hermitage; two step-brothers, Harry Wansor and his wife Joan, Hermitage; and Solomon Wansor and his wife Betty Lou, Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, George was preceded in death by his step-mother, Betty Heimburger; his step-father, Vincent Fazzalore; and a nephew, Darren Cataldo.
Calling hour will be from 1 p.m. to time of service on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
