Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday (9-17-15) for George P. Fox Jr., Sharpsville, who passed away peacefully at 12:55 p.m. Saturday (9-12-15) surrounded by family at the The Hospice House, Poland, OH. He was 65. He was born December 19, 1949 in Sharon, one of eight children born to George P. Fox Sr. and Dorothy E. Kuzel Fox. A lifelong area resident, he graduated from Sharon High School in 1967. Following high school he attended Youngstown State University. In 1969 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1973. In 1984 he became an Air Force Reservist at the Youngstown-Warren Air Reserve Station, Trumbull County, where he retired in 2007. George worked as a case worker for the Department of Welfare in Hermitage. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville. In his spare time he enjoyed photography, gardening, and spending time with his two grandsons. George loved baseball and was a familiar face at the Sharpsville Little League field where he enjoyed umpiring for a number of years. His wife, the former Judy Manilla, whom he married on September 21, 1974, survives at home. He also leaves his daughter, Amanda L. Roeder and her husband Jason, Neshannock Township, Anthony "Tony" J. Fox, Louisville, KY,; a son-in-law, Todd R. Stefan, Wexford; five sisters, Margaret Kuzel, Sharon, Mary Catherine Gaborko and her husband Bill, Hesperia, CA, Monica Lazor, Perrysburg, OH, Dorothy Fox and her husband Michael, New Castle, Christina "Tina" Hovis, and her husband Ron, Clark, two brothers, Paul A. Fox and his wife Rosie, Temecula, CA, and Daniel Fox and his wife, Karen, Eastvale, CA,; a brother-in-law, James J. Manilla and his wife Renee, Hermitage; two grandsons, Tyler Stefan, and Noah Roeder, numerous nieces and nephews, and close friend, John Piccirilli, Sharon. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Kristen L. Stefan, and his mother-in-law Virginia L. Manilla Galardo. Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday (9-17-15) in St. Bartholomew Church, 311 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, with the Rev. Jeffery J. Noble, as celebrant. Internment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage, with full military honors provided by the West Middlesex VFW Post 6233, and the Wheatland American Legion Post 432 Honor Guard.
