George E. Allen, 102 Fleetwood Ct. , Wheatland, formerly of Malleable St. , Sharon , passed away at 3:55 a.m. Saturday (5-8-10) in his residence. He was 73.
Mr. Allen was born August 1, 1936 in Bethel, PA a son of Robert and Elizabeth 'Boots' Morgan Allen.
He attended Wheatland and Farrell schools.
George was employed as a truck driver for more than 35 years. He began his career delivering milk as a young boy and retired from US Steel Products in 1986. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.
George was a former member of the Wheatland-Farrell United Methodist Church.
A veteran, he served with the US Navy and was a member of the Wheatland American Legion. George loved fishing and spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandson and his special dog friends, Gidgett and Benji.
Surviving are: his wife, the former Viola M. Black, whom he married February 13, 1965; a daughter, Deborah Syersak and her husband Michael, Brookfield ; a son, Timothy L. Hassan and his wife Melissa, Hermitage; a sister, Betty Virginia Daggett and her husband Donald 'Red', Osawatomie, KS; three grandsons, Timothy G., Travis L. and Tyler L. Hassan; and a granddaughter, Marissa Penney and her husband Adam.
George was preceded in death by his parents, a bro the r, Bobby Allen; and a grandson, Joshua Tice.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday (5-12-10) in Haywood Cemetery , West Middlesex , with the Rev. Charles Eckles, pastor of IHM Ministries, Hermitage, officiating.

Helen M. Almon, formerly of Hoagland Black Stub Rd., Cortland, Ohio, passed away at 3:05 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, in Countryside Convalescent Home, Mercer, PA, where she was a resident for more than four years. She was 91.
Mrs. Almon was born Jan. 20, 1920 in Ashtabula, Ohio a daughter of the late Paul A. and Nellie Praisner Frydrych.
She was a graduate of Rock Creek High School, Orwell, Ohio.
A homemaker, she was an active member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Cortland, Ohio.
Her husband of nearly 40 years, Charles Almon, is deceased.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Frydrych.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 4659 Niles-Cortland Rd. NE, Cortland, Ohio 44410.
