George F. 'Bud' Anglin, 570 S. 8th St., Sharpsville, passed away at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday (6-1-11) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness. He was 91.
Mr. Anglin was born October 8, 1919 in Pittsburgh a son of the late George and Florence Cattron Anglin.
He was a graduate of Sharpsville High School and served with the US Army during WW II in the European Theatre.
Bud retired in 1981 as an agent for the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Co. where he was employed for thirty years. He was previously an office manager for Calvert Lumber Co., Sharon.
Mr. Anglin was a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon. Bud served on the Sharpsville Borough Council for eight years and was a past president. During this time, he was instrumental in helping to form the first Council of Government (COG) in the Shenango Valley. Bud was a sports enthusiast and an avid reader. His greatest joy, however, was the time he shared with his family, particularly his grandchildren.
His wife, the former Winifred Stephenson, whom he married in 1953, passed away in 1987.
Surviving are: two sons, Casey Anglin and his wife Luann, Sharpsville; and Chris Anglin and his wife Kim, S. Pymatuning Township; four grandchildren, Michael Anglin and his fiancé Ashley Cox; and Mark, Christopher and Molly Anglin; a sister, Christine Felton, New Wilmington, PA; and a nephew, David Felton and his wife Mitsuko, Pasadena, California.
Besides his parents and wife, Bud was preceded in death by a son, Michael Anglin.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday (6-4-11) in St. Joseph Church, Sharon, with Rev. Glenn R. Whitman.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
