Genevieve Bridge, of Hermitage, passed away with family at her side on April 22, 2018. She was 79.

Mrs. Bridge was born October 7, 1938, in Hickory Township, PA, a daughter of Jacob W. and Mary Kay (Kavolsky) Stefanick.

A lifelong area resident, she was a 1956 graduate of Hickory High School and then completed courses at Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing, earning her RN certification.

Genevieve was employed for 20 years as a registered nurse at Sharon General Hospital.

She is a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex, PA, and a former member of St. Joseph's Church and St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, both Sharon.

Some of her favorite pastimes were painting watercolors at the Senior Center, Hermitage, sewing, crocheting, and baking. Genevieve enjoyed the outdoors and taking her children and grandchildren on many adventures.

Genevieve was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her strong will and caring gentle spirit will always be remembered. As well as the love that she poured out to those closest to her. She will be dearly missed by all.

Her husband, James R Bridge, whom she married June 20, 1959, passed away June 9, 2016.

Surviving are: three daughters, Carol Baker and her husband Joseph, Hermitage, Jean Marie Bodien and her husband Karl, Warner Robins, GA, and Raedine Bridge, Sharpsville; two sons, Michael Bridge and his wife Melissa, Hartford, OH, and James E. Bridge and his wife Linda, Brookfield; a sister, Annette Selenchik and her husband Joseph, Hermitage; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mildred Holland and Mary Ann Bottger; and two brothers, David and James Stefanick.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday ( 4-26-18 ) in the J Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.

Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Friday ( 4-27-18 ) in the Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex, with Rev. Matthew Strickenberger, as celebrant.
