Geneva Mines, of Wheatland, passed away at 7:28 a.m. Friday (7-22-16) in her residence. She was 76.

Mrs. Mines was born September 8, 1939, in Wheatland, a daughter of Willie and Calliner Gordon Bridges. A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Farrell High School in 1957.

She was employed by Delphi Electric, formerly Packard Electric, Warren, OH, retiring after 35 years of service.

Mrs. Mines was a member of the Sharon Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Geneva was devout in her faith, and even after becoming bedridden, she never missed an opportunity to spread the word and teachings of the Bible.

She enjoyed going shopping, and always had a gift for hunting down the best bargains.

Geneva loved her family and especially enjoyed spending her time to help care for her grandchildren.

Surviving are: her husband of 46 years, David Mines, whom she married March 28, 1970; three daughters, Sheri (Danny) McCoy, Youngstown, OH; Gail Lockhart, Farrell; and Natasha Mines Brodie, Sharon; three sisters, Katherine Taylor, New Castle; Virgie LeSueur and Winnie Ruth Bridges, both of Columbus, OH; two brothers, Eugene Bridges, Columbus, OH; and Willie Ray (Denise) Bridges, Iowa. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Russell Craig Pointer, a sister, Juanita Derry, and a brother, Dave Bridges.

Calling hour will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday July 27, 2016 in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, in the funeral home, with Mr. Tim Davenport officiating.
