Gary J. Ward, Ridgewood, NY, passed away unexpectedly of heart failure at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday (7-27-11) in Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. He was 55.

Mr. Ward was born April 4, 1956 in Manhattan, NY a son of George A. and Doris Lammers Ward.

Gary grew up in Wantagh, NY and following high school worked for Blair Products, Queens, NY for more than twenty years.

He most recently has been employed as a security guard at Trinity School, New York, NY through Allied Burton Security Services where he had many friends.

Gary loved to read and enjoyed sports. He was a fan of the New York Mets and the Dallas Cowboys.

Surviving are: his mother, Doris 'Dot' Ward; a sister, Alison (Ward) Clingensmith and her husband Lenny; a nephew, Jordan Clingensmith; and a niece, Kaylin Clingensmith, all New Castle, PA.

Gary was preceded in death by his father in June of 2007.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (8-10-11) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

Memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (8-10-11) in the funeral home with Rev. Dennis A. Blauser, vicar of Trinity Ministry Center of St. Jude Episcopal Church, officiating.
