Gail M. Howard, 68, of Hermitage, formerly of Morgan City, LA, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 8, 2024, in her home.

Ms. Howard was born on January 3, 1956, in Port Arthur, TX, a daughter of the late Lyle and Mary Ella (Ducet) Howard and attended high school in Morgan City, LA.

A dedicated homemaker, she worked for more than 15 years at Walmart in Morgan City.

Gail was of the Roman Catholic faith and a former member of the Sacred Heart Parish, Morgan City.

An "explorer" she had a passion for writing poetry and saving special things for others. Gail was "the best grandma in the world" and deeply loved her grandchildren. Additionally, she admired her cats.

She is survived by a daughter, Sarah Jestings (Wayne), Hermitage; three grandchildren, Meridith, Jared and Kevin Jestings; a sister, Karen Howard (Greta), Lake Charles, LA; and three brothers, Gordon Howard (Patricia), Waveland, MS, Leslie Howard (Trudy), Gibson, LA, and Michael Howard, Morgan City.

In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by the father of her daughter, Michael Fox.
