Freda Barbara Myers, of Capitol Court, Farrell, passed away peacefully at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2015, in John XXIII Home, Hermitage, following an extended illness. She was 100. Freda was born Aug. 26, 1914, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Henry and Katherine Stewart Kagle Sr. She attended schools in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, Cecil, Pa., Washington County. A homemaker, she raised her children in Farrell, where she volunteered her time with both the school Music Guild, and the Football Mothers. She also belonged to the Pythian Sisters fraternal organization. She enjoyed a good game of cards and belonged to several card clubs over the years. Her favorite football team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. She was of the Methodist faith. Her husband, John Anderson Myers, who she married May 5, 1934, passed away Jan. 8, 1970. She is survived by two daughters, Fay K. Balluch, Sharon; and Gayle Weber, Farrell; one son, Kenneth S. Myers and his wife Connie, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; one sister, Eileen Hetrick and her husband Jeff, Cortland; a brother, Donald Kagle and his wife Shirley, Alexandria, Va.; and 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Taylor; a son John Myers; three sisters, Betty Higgins, Dorothy Ciccione, and June Marie Carosone; three brothers, Henry, William, and an infant, Kenneth Kagle; three sons-in-law, George Ballush Jr., Samuel Toskin and Richard Weber; and a daughter-in-law, JoAnne Myers.
