Frank Yukich, 107 Hermitage Hills Blvd., formerly of 235 N. Buhl Farm Dr., both Hermitage, passed away at 2: 20 a.m. Thursday (7-7-11) on his 60th wedding anniversary in St. Elizabeth Select Specialty, Youngstown, after an extended illness. He was 89.
Mr. Yukich was born January 22, 1922 in Farrell a son of the late Peter and Frances Sperisak Yukich.
A lifelong area resident he was a 1940 graduate of Farrell High School.
As part of the Greatest Generation, Frank served as a Corporal with the US Army during WW II. He specialized as a Radar Mechanic and spent twenty two months overseas in England, France and Germany. He was honorably discharged on October 22, 1945 after more than three years of service.
Mr. Yukich retired in 1983 after 43 years of employment at the former Sharon Transformer Division of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
Frank was an avid golfer for many years and once had a hole-in-one. He also enjoyed gardening and was known for his delicious tomato's. He will be remembered by many for his meticulous and orderly way and his wonderful sense of humor.
Surviving are: his wife, the former Lois V. Steibly, whom he married July 7, 1951 in the former St. Ann's Church, Farrell; two daughters, Bobbie Campoli and her husband James, Hermitage; and Janet Skelton and her husband Charles, Snow Hill, N.C.; a son, Frank Yukich and his wife Eva, Visalia, CA; and four grandchildren, Jimmy, Nicole and Amanda Campoli; and Frank Yukich.
Besides his parents, Frank was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Yukich; and two brothers, Samuel and Joseph Yukich.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice. In keeping with Frank's wishes, there are no calling hours.

Private funeral service will be held today (7-9-11) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon, with the Rev. John Lyons, officiating.
Interment: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hermitage.
