Obituary

Frank V. Schell, 1047 E. Corrine Dr., Scottsdale, Arizona, formerly of Baldwin Park, CA and Farrell, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Thursday (2-23-12) in Scottsdale (AZ) Foothills Nursing Home. He was 98.

Mr. Schell was born January 28, 1914 in Pittsburgh a son of the late Vincent and Rose Perri Schell.

He was a 1931 graduate of Farrell High School and served with the US Army during WW II in the Asian Theatre. He was a radar instructor during most of his enlistment, however, he also had the opportunity to work on the B29 Bomber radars.

Moving to California in 1946, Frank was a cabinet maker for 36 years having worked for the Sawhill Cabinet Co. and later, the McConnell Cabinet Co., both Los Angeles. He retired in 1984.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Baldwin Park. Frank enjoyed making wood puzzles for family and friends and also helping them with repairs around their homes. He would visit Pennsylvania in the summer for a couple of months each year and would always arrive with a trunk full of tools. He never married.

Frank is survived by a very large family of loving nieces and nephews from five generations; and a sister-in-law, Carol Johnson, Lake Katrina, New York.

Besides his parents, Frank was preceded in death by five sisters, infant Eleanora, Angeline Scarmack, Mary Schell, Theresa Pacileo and Elizabeth Zoccola; and six brothers, Anthony DiCello; and Samuel, Joseph, Louis, Nick and Peter Schell.

Calling hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday (3-4-12) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday (3-5-12) in Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church, Farrell, with the Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage, with military honors rendered by the honor guard of West Middlesex VFW and Wheatland American Legion.
