Frank L. Ryhal, 92, of New Castle, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, February 2, 2018. Mr. Ryhal was born May 8, 1925, in New Castle, a son of Oliver and Carrie (McCracken) Ryhal.
He was a graduate of New Castle High School and proudly severed his country in the U.S. Navy during World War ll.
On October 16, 1948, he married the former Alice Witkowski, and they spent 63 wonderful years together before Alice's passing on August 29, 2012.
Frank retired from Castle Brand Meat Packing, where he drove truck for 30 years. During his retirement he worked at Armor MFG, New Castle.
A loving husband and father, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Frank was a gentle man with a ready smile and a quick sense of humor. Over the years he enjoyed fishing, bowling, golf and sharing a meal with friends.
Surviving are: a son, David J. Ryhal, of Broken Arrow, OK; a daughter, Marsha A (Gary) Schlager, St. Joseph, MI; a brother, Gene Ryhal; a sister, Donna Yakubik; 5 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Frank was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Raymond, Richard and William Ryhal; and two sisters, Olive Houston and Ruth Eckles.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday (2-6-18) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday (2-7-18) in the funeral home.
Military honors will be rendered by the New Castle Area Honor Guard.
Interment: Briar Hill, New Castle.
