Frank E. Herrmann of Clark passed away following an extended illness shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, in his residence, with his family at his side. He was 85. Frank was born Sept. 15, 1929, in North Sewickley Township, Beaver County, one of six children born to Clarence and Jessie Barlett Herrmann. He was a lifelong area resident and attended Hickory schools. A disabled American veteran, he served with the Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War. He worked for Sawhill Tubular in both their Wheatland and Sharon plants and retired with 37½ years of service. Frank was a founding member of Lakeside Evangelical Congregational Church, Transfer, and also was a follower of Pastor Joe's television ministries. His wife, the former Margaret Addicott, whom he married on July 30, 1955, survives at home. He also is survived by a daughter, Barbara A. Beck, and her husband William, West Middlesex; two sons, David Herrmann and his wife Debie, Fredonia; and James E. Herrmann and his wife Heidi, Transfer; one sister, Sarah Deiger and her husband Willard, Pawcatuck, Conn.; a brother, Clarence Herrmann, Hermitage; a sister-in-law, Vera Herrmann, Sharpsville; five grandchildren, Kayla Simpson and her husband Aiden, Kyle Beck, Glenn Herrmann, Kaitlyn Herrmann and James Herrmann Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Vivian Herrmann; a brother, Walter Herrmann; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Bill Darby; and a sisterin- law, Agnes Herrmann. Frank loved the Lord and his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his gentle ways, as he never judged anyone and accepted everyone for who they were. "When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room - why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not for long, and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared. Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take, and each must go alone. It's all part of the Master's plan, a step on the road home. When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to the friends we know, and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me, but let me go." His family suggests that anyone who wishes to make a memorial contribution in his memory to please consider one of the following; Disabled American Veterans, 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076; or Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 CFC 11425.
