Frank E. Chess, III, of Hermitage, passed away unexpectedly the evening of Wednesday August 3, 2016, in his residence. He was 55.

Frank was born May 22, 1961, in Sharon, a son of Frank E. Chess, Jr. and Betty Hogg Chess.

He attended the former Notre Dame Parochial Grade School and was a 1979 graduate of Kennedy Christian High School, both Hermitage. Frank also attended Slippery Rock State University.

He was employed by the Keystone Blind Association, Hermitage.  Frank was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Frank is survived by:his parents Frank and Betty Chess, Hermitage; his wife, the former Michelle Daris, Hermitage; a son Matthew E. Chess, whom he loved dearly,Ann Arbor, MI; a sister, Amy Krysiek and her husband David, Atlanta, GA, and their children William, Elizabeth, and Benjamin; a brother, Edward W. Chess and his wife Cynthia, and their children Emily and Megan, Hermitage; an aunt, Marcy DeCarmen, Farrell; an uncle, Jesse Hogg, Hermitage; his mother-in-law, Jeanette Daris, Hermitage; and hisGod Parents, Richard and Ann Stigliano, also Hermitage.

Frank was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Blanche Hogg and Frank E. Chess, Sr.and Jennie Chess; and his father-in-law, Edward Daris.  Frank's family would like to thank Dr. Charles D'Auria and Dr. Randy Stigliano for their exceptional care.

Calling hour will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2016 in the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Road, Hermitage.


Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Monday , in the church with Rev. Jeffrey Noble, pastor and Msgr. Edward J. Zeitler, sr. associate, as celebrants.

Interment: St. Ann's Cemetery, Hermitage.
