Obituary

A Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday for Frank Vincent Ciambotti of Sharpsville, who passed away unexpectedly at 6:05 p.m. Thursday (3-19-15) in the emergency room of UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 70. Mr. Ciambotti was born Feb. 20, 1945, in New Castle, a son of Gaetano and Jean Louise Eckles Ciambotti. Frank graduated from Sharon High School and attended Youngstown State University. He later became a certified HVAC technician and worked for several years in heating and cooling throughout the area. He later purchased his parents' restaurant with his brother Lawrence "Larry" Ciambotti, the popular Inn 62 in Hermitage. The Ciambotti brothers owned Inn 62 for nearly 15 years before selling and retiring in 2003. Frank attended St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville. A decorated veteran, he served with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged with several medals and citations. Frank enjoyed a good round of golf and listening to music, including his favorite radio show, "The Sunday Italian Hour." His greatest joy was found while spending time with his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He also enjoyed cruising the valley and spending time at home with his buddies, Gus the dog and Cookie the dog. Frank will be remembered for his unique sense of humor and dry wit. He will be sadly missed by his morning coffee clutch, a group of family and friends that varied in size from day to day. His absence has left a void that only he could fill. He is survived by: his former wife, Mary Ann Karsonovich; his son, Bart Cuddy and his wife Sherri, Charlotte, N.C.; two daughters, Jill Kimpan and her husband Andrew, and Amber Ciambotti, all Sharpsville; and his grandchildren, Lauren and Audrey Cuddy; Victoria and Chad Kimpan; and Vincent & Beck Altany. He also leaves: his four sisters, Anna M. Ciambotti and her husband William H. Adams, Youngstown; Ellen L. Ciambotti and her companion David Bostic, and Lorraine J. Elswick and her husband C. William Elswick, all Charleston, W.Va; and Diane M. Ciambotti and her companion Hyatt Addie, Brookfield; and his two aunts, Edie Nicholson, Hermitage; and Jean Ciambotti, McKeesport. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his brother and business partner, Lawrence Ciambotti, who passed away March 4 of this year; and an infant brother, Paul Ciambotti. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American War Veterans, Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301. Calling hours: None, in keeping with Frank's wishes. Service: All are welcome to join his family as they celebrate his Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday (3-24-15) in St. Bartholomew Church, 311 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, with the Rev. Matthew Strickenberger, pastor, as celebrant. Full military honors will be rendered at the church following the Mass by the West Middlesex and Farrell Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Wheatland American Legion Honor Guard. Cremation: Will follow. Arrangements by J. BRADLEY McGONIGLE FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
