Francis J. Schrantz, 90, of Neshannock Twp. passed away Thursday afternoon, April 18, 2024.

Mr. Schrantz was born July 30, 1933, in New Castle, a son of the late Francis J. and Helen (Gurgacz) Schrantz.

A lifelong area resident, Francis worked as a truck driver for Castle Brand Meats in New Castle, retiring in 1995. During retirement, he drove a flatbed truck to assist his son, Tom, at his manufacturing business, Armor Manufacturing.

Francis was a member of the Holy Spirit Parish of New Castle – St. Camillus Church.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and horseback riding, especially on his favorite horse, "Maybe." Francis also looked forward to spending time with his beloved grandchildren and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates games.

His wife of 67 years, Dorothy E. (Scholz) Schrantz, whom he married November 26, 1954, preceded him in death August 18, 2022.

Francis is survived by two sons, Robert Schrantz (Stephanie) and Thomas Schrantz, all of Neshannock Twp.; two sisters, Clara Litwinovich, of Pulaski and Shirley Settle, of Volant; two grandchildren, Robert Schrantz and Kaitland Schrantz; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Francis was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Jean Dexter.

In keeping with his wishes, all services will be held privately.

Interment: Graceland Cemetery, Neshannock Twp.
