Obituary

Francis "Frank" J. Habuda Jr., Hermitage, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Friday (9-18-15) in Hospice House, Poland, Ohio following an extended illness. He was 61. He was born November 9, 1953 in Youngstown, Ohio the son of Francis J. Habuda Sr. and Lita DiGiacomo Habuda. A lifelong area resident, he graduated from Sharpsville High School 1971 and he attended Pennsylvania State University, State College, Pa. He worked in his early years in Youngstown for both the former Habuda Concrete business, and Ohio Alloy Steel. He also worked in sales for Timken Steel and more currently for Cogne Specialty Steel as their North East territory agent. Frank belonged to Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage. He loved sports and was active in Hermitage Little League in past years where he enjoyed coaching. He supported both baseball and basketball as a booster at Hickory High School. He enjoyed tending to his garden, fishing, trips to Lake Chautauqua, but was happiest while spending time with his family and friends. His wife the former Laurie Evans whom he married September 17, 1977, survives at home. He also leaves his son Francis "Frank" J. Habuda III, also at home, two brothers, David Habuda and his wife LuAnn, Bixby, Ok, and James Habuda and his wife Diana, Winter Springs, Fl, his brother in law, Tom Evans and his wife Stephanie, St. Simons Island, GA., two sister in laws, Sherry Lambert and her husband Ken, Sharon, Donna Gerasimek and her husband Tom, Lawrenceville, GA, his Godson, Jonathon Dunch, and Goddaughter, Samantha Veltheims, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and godparents. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests that anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in his memory to please consider Church of Notre Dame 2325 Highland Road, Hermitage, Pa. 16148 or to The Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, Ohio 44514. Calling hours: 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday (9-21-15) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon. Services: Mass of Christian burial Will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (9-22-15) with the Rev. Jeffery J. Noble, pastor of the Church of Note Dame as celebrant. A procession to the church will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Internment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
