Obituary

Frances Jeanne Rose, Warrensville Heights, Ohio, formerly of Sharon, PA passed away at 6:45 p.m. Thursday (7/23/15) in Altercare at St. Joseph's Center following an extended illness. She was 88. Jeanne was born August 19, 1926 in New Castle, Pa the daughter of Carl Eugene and Mary Jones Turner. She was a 1944 graduate of New Castle High School. She worked for Protected Life Insurance Co., Sharon in several capacities for over 35 years, retiring in 2003. Jeanne was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and for many years was active in the Ruth Circle at the church. She enjoyed reading, needlework and playing cards with her long time friends from New Castle. She was especially proud of her Welsh heritage and enjoyed singing Welsh hymns and attending Welsh song fests. Some of her fondest memories were going on cruises with her husband and friends, and traveling to Wales with her sister. Her husband, William C. Rose, whom she married September 7, 1946, passed away January 18, 1983. She is survived by one daughter, Diane L. Holler and her husband Stephen, Cleveland, Oh; one son, Gary B. Rose and his wife Margie, Sharon; and one sister, Mary Ruth Evans, Warren, Oh. Jeanne was a devoted grandmother and is survived by five grandchildren whom she adored; Matthew Rose and his wife Nicole, Brian Rose, Kathryn Doyle and her husband Chris, Stephen Holler and his wife Lisa and Kristen Bacon and her husband Dan; and six great grandchildren, Connor, Brady, Alexa, Eddie, Bobbi and Lucy. She was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Jeanne is preceded in death by a sister, Cecelia Jane Jones. Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday (7/26/2015) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State Street, Sharon. Services: Funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Monday (7/27/2015) in the funeral home with Pastor David Evans, of the Hickory United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment: America's Cemetery, Hermitage.
