Frances Arlene Pavcik passed away early Monday morning, May 6, 2024, at her residence.

Mrs. Pavcik was born December 22, 1929, in Salem, OH, a daughter of Florence Reichart Ewing. She was a 1947 graduate of Hickory High School, Hermitage, and attended Youngstown State University. Frances served as the Chairman of the Class of 1947 high school reunions for many years.

She retired from the Sharon Steel Corporation, where she started after graduating from Hickory High School, and continued to work for the next 32 years. During retirement, Frances worked part-time in the Prothonotary and Recorder of Deeds offices in the Mercer County Courthouse, as well as working part-time for Penn Power.

She was united in marriage to John Pavcik on June 14, 1952, in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hermitage, joining the church and remaining as a lifelong member. John passed away on July 20, 1997.

Frances was a lifelong member of the Mercer County Republican Committee and the Mercer County Council of Republican Women. She also organized the initial Mercer County Young Republicans.

Additionally, Frances served as director and membership chairman for the General Federation of PA Women's Club, and as past president of the Mercer County Federation and the Sharpsville Women's Club. She was a past member of the Chamber of Commerce and served as Secretary of the South Pymatuning Municipal Authority.

Frances was preceded in death by her mother and father, Florence and John Ewing; and her grandparents, Margaret and Harry Reichart. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
