Frances C. Holloway, formerly of Bechtol Ave., Sharon, passed away at the home of her daughter in Butler, PA Saturday afternoon (1-16-16). She was 92.
Mrs. Holloway was born June 18, 1923, in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of Leonard and Frances (Eld) Clupp. She was a 1941 graduate of Ridley Park High School and was employed by and met her husband at the Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Philadelphia prior to her marriage.
Frances was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon. Active in the community, she was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, AWARE, Girl Scouts of America, St. Joseph's Widows Group, Sharon Interfaith Group, Mercer County Genealogical Society, Allegheny Canoe Club and served the former Sharon General Hospital Auxiliary with over 5,000 hours of volunteer service including serving as the Chairperson of the Candy Stripers. She was also a passionately active member of the League of Women Voters for many decades.
Her husband, Edward K. Holloway, whom she married September 20, 1947, passed away August 13, 1995. She and Ed enjoyed living in the Sharon area near their beloved Buhl Park and worked side by side to build their home together.
Surviving are: four daughters, Christine H. Bowman and her husband Terrence, Sharon; Joan H. McGarvey and her husband William, Butler, PA; Patricia S. Holloway, Fairbanks, AK; and Dorothy A. Hvozda, Lewisburg, PA; eleven grandchildren, Joseph (Lisa) Bowman, Thailand, Leah (Dan) Ogonek, Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Virginia Bowman, Akron, OH, Regina (Eric) Dull, Kensington, MD, Sarah (Scott) Rattigan, Butler, PA, Megan (Edward) Kormos, Indiana, PA, Nicholas (Sarah) Hvozda, Kingston, NY, Jonathan Hvozda & Emily Lang, Fort Bragg, CA, Leslie Hvozda, Moscow, ID, Jacob Van Veldhuizen, Fairbanks, AK, and Matthew Van Veldhuizen, Anchorage, AK; and ten great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a loving sister, Patricia Sullivan and her husband Edward, Drexel Hill, PA; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Kelly and Evelyn Keevill; and two brothers, Joseph and John Clupp.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday (1-21-16) at St. Joseph Church, Sharon, with Rev. Thomas Whitman, pastor, as celebrant.
