Obituary

Florence Arlene Cattron, formerly a longtime resident of Lyle Dr., Hermitage, passed away at 7:43 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2011 in John XXIII Home, Hermitage. She was 86.

Mrs. Cattron was born July 3, 1925 in Sharon a daughter of the late Paul C. and Theresa H. Rhing Weaver.

She attended the former St. Joseph Parochial Grade School and was a 1943 alumna of Sharon High School.

Her husband of 49 years, Edward Love Cattron, whom she married October 9, 1943, passed away September 9, 1993.

Mrs. Cattron was a homemaker and an active lifetime member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon, where she was a daily communicant and participated for many years in the Liturgical Small Group and the Widows Group. She was also a member of John XXIII Home Auxiliary and the AARP.

Surviving are: three sons, Edward Paul Cattron and his wife Karen, Rochester, NY; Leslie James Cattron and his wife Theresa, Greenville; and Jeffrey Lee Cattron and his wife Janet, Sharpsville; Nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two sisters, Sister Phyllis J. Weaver, O.S.B., Erie, PA; and Mary K. Libertin and her husband Nick, Campbell, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Weaver, Huntington Beach, CA; a former daughter-in-law, Patty Unterstein, in Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Florence was preceded in death by a son, Gary Cattron; two children who died in infancy, Stanley J. Cattron and Theresa Mae Cattron; a sister, Margaret Mealka and her husband David; a brother, Paul Weaver; and a brother-in-law, James Cattron and his wife Phyllis.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Mt. St. Benedict Monastery, 6101 East Lake Rd., Erie, PA 16511; St. Joseph Church or St. Rose Cemetery, both 79 Case Ave., Sharon, PA16146; or John XXIII Home Auxiliary, 2250 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, PA 16148.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011, in St. Rose Cemetery Chapel, Hermitage, with the Rev. John Lynch, retired priest, as celebrant.
