A memorial service will be held Saturday for Ferdinand M. 'Fritz' Secic of 42 Mabel Drive, West Middlesex. He passed away peacefully at 8:30 a.m. Saturday (3-12-11) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. He was 84.

Mr. Secic was born May 26, 1926, in Sharon, a son of Steve and Mildred Rak Secic.

He attended Sharon schools. Mr. Secic retired in 1986 after 43 years at the former Sawhill Tubular Products, where he was a shipper.

Ferdinand was a member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell, and was a former member of the Slovenian Home, Sharon.

A veteran, Mr. Secic served his country and was a Navy Reservist.

Surviving are: his wife, the former Eleanore H. Haniak, whom he married in 1949, West Middlesex; two brothers, Joseph Secich, Niles, Ohio; and Thomas Secich and his wife Josephine, Hubbard; several nieces including Cathy Garlock, Lima, Ohio; and nephews; and his close friends, John and Donna Komarc, West Middlesex.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Steve, Mike, Frank and John.
