Obituary

Evelyn Lillian McQuilken, 350 Herr St., Hermitage, PA; formerly of Meek St., Sharon, passed away at 4:00 am, Wednesday (12/10/08) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 86.
Mrs. McQuilken was born June 19, 1922 in Grove City, PA a daughter of the late Harold and Waunita Truan Stanley. She attended Grove City Schools and moved to the Shenango Valley in the 1940's.
She retired from John XXIII Home, Hermitage where she worked as a cafeteria worker for more than twenty years. She previously worked at the former Shenango Inn and the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge 103, both Sharon. Evelyn enjoyed playing cards and bingo at the North Sharon Fire Hall.
Her husband of 50 years, Harry James McQuilken, whom she married May 7, 1938, passed away January 11, 1988.
She is survived by two daughters, Lillian Bayer and her husband Jack, with whom she lived; and Nancy Adams, all Hermitage; a sister, June Phillips, Sharon; and a brother, Carroll Stanley and his wife Jennifer, Girard, OH; seven grandchildren, Debby Zarecki and her husband Alec; Suzanne Dillon and her companion Thomas Rakoci; James Dillon; Tony Dillon and his wife Sherie; Jack Bayer, Jr. and his wife Michelle; Michael Bayer; and David J. Maurice, Sr.; four great grandchildren, David Maurice, Jr.; Chad Maurice, Nancy Maurice; and Byron Brannon; ten great great grandchildren, Jenna, Blake, Chandler, Dillon, Nicholas and Grace Maurice; McKenzie Feagle; Colby King; and twins Brayden and Dalaini Bayer; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Dillon; eight sisters, Marion Smock, Bernice Schuller, Frances Chaverine, Patricia Stanley, Katherine Kiefer, Ruth Barca, Rose Williams and Annie Alabaster; and a brother William Stanley.
Calling hours: 6-9 p.m. Friday (12/12/08) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon, PA 16146.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday (12/13/08) in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Charles Eckles, pastor of IHS Ministries, Hermitage, officiating.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
