Obituary

Eugenia Scott, formerly of 613 Leona St., Sharpsville, passed away with family at her side at 11:30 p.m. Sunday (9-26-10) in O'Brien Memorial Health Care Center, Masury, after 14 years with Alzheimer's disease. She was 89.

Mrs. Scott was born February 25, 1921 in Coitsville, Ohio a daughter of the late Steven and Pauline Lazar.

She was a graduate of the former Scienceville High School where she was the homecoming queen.

Following high school, she worked at the Pyatt Street Produce Market in Youngstown where she met her future husband, Samuel J. 'Babe' Scott of Sharon.

During WW II she was employed at the former Republic Rubber Company of Youngstown, Ohio. She married Samuel on December 26, 1942.

Eugenia was a member of the Thursday Night Ladies and the Tuesday Morning Early Bird bowling leagues at Thornton Hall Bowling Lanes, Sharon. A modest woman, Eugenia was a loving mother and grandmother, a devoted homemaker and a wonderful cook. She and her husband were world travelers and visited all fifty United States as well as Europe and the Orient.

Surviving are: three sons, Thomas R. Scott, husband of Janet, Philipsburg, PA; David G. Scott, husband of Donna, Sharon; and Robert J. Scott, husband of Nancy, Port Matlida, PA; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Marginian, wife of Charles, Parma, Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Rosemary Lazar.

Besides her parents, Eugenia was preceded in death by her husband on July 24, 2003; two brothers, George Lazar of Coitsville and Victor Lazar of Youngstown; and two sisters, Virginia Fabrizio of Youngstown and Victoria Perline of Hubbard.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to O'Brien's Memorial Health Care Center's Alzheimer Unit, 563 Brookfield Ave. SE, Masury, Ohio 44438 where Eugenia received world class care.
