Eugene V. "Scott" Moffatt, 82, of Shenango Twp. passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday evening, April 27, 2024.

Mr. Moffatt was born June 19, 1941, in New Castle, a son of the late Eugene V. Moffatt, Sr. and Elizabeth (Hink) Moffatt. After graduating from Neshannock High School in 1959, he studied electrical engineering at Youngstown State University.

Scott was the president of Star Class, Inc., of New Castle, which he co-owned and operated with his two brothers. A talented engineer, he owned a patent on a rubber product that he sold and distributed worldwide.

Scott was a member and former trustee of Center United Presbyterian Church of New Castle.

He enjoyed fixing and assembling classic cars, especially Lincoln's. Above all, he cherished the time he could spend with his grandchildren. A generous soul, Scott had a gift for putting other's needs before his own.

His wife of 58 years, Kathryn (Lipp) Moffatt, whom he married June 26, 1965, survives at their home in Shenango Twp.

Scott is also survived by three grandchildren, Brittany Edgerton (fiancé, Daniel), of Edinburg, Danielle Tanner (Ryan), of New Castle, and Justin Moffatt, of Union Twp.; three great-grandchildren, Chase, Aubree, and Ryann; two brothers, Robert Moffatt (Patricia) and Sidney Moffatt (Nancy), all of Shenango Twp.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Eugene Moffatt; a brother, Raymond Moffatt; and a sister, Jean Virginia Neely.

Calling hours will be 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday (4-30-24) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

A funeral service will be held immediately following at 4 p.m., in the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Randy Stringer and Rev. Dr. Don Howard, co-officiating.

Interment: Graceland Cemetery, Neshannock Twp.
