Etta Schell, 94, of Masury, OH, passed away Wednesday morning, October 8, 2025, in St. Paul's Senior Living Community, Greenville, PA.
Mrs. Schell was born on March 8, 1931, in Farrell, a daughter of the late Emanuel and Theresa (Kraynak) Whorten, and attended Farrell High School.
She was a longtime employee and dispatcher of the former Anderson Taxi Cab in downtown Sharon. Most recently, she worked as a nurse's aid at Clepper Manor, Sharon.
Etta was an Avon representative for more than 50 years. Additionally, she helped her son run his tavern, "Schell's Club Topsy."
She was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Elvis Presley. Etta also loved to go camping, especially at her camp near Cook Forest.
Etta made her home with her dear granddaughter for nearly 38 years, Angel McLaughlin.
Her husband, Leon Schell, whom she married on December 1, 1950, passed away on February 7, 1978.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandie (John Seybert) Farrimond, of Farrell, Shelley (William) McLaughlin, of Hubbard, OH, Loretta (Thomas) Foor, of Transfer; six sons, Leon (Nancy) Schell, Jr., Lance (Pamela) Schell, both of Masury, Neal (Terri) Schell, Randall (Dawn) Schell, both of Sharon, Dale (Gwen) Schell, of Masury, and Guy (Laura) Schell, of Pittsburgh; 35 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Edna Derrenbacher, of Hermitage, and Ilene Yudt, of Transfer.
In addition to her parents and husband, Etta was preceded in death by a son, Lon Schell; her longtime companion, Ron Hollenbaugh; three grandchildren, John McLaughlin, Melissa Schell and Jason "Buck" Foor; two great-grandchildren, Romero Norris and Keagan Schell; a sister, Dorothy Esmond; and four brothers, Elmer, Richard, Robert and Daniel Whorten.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Paul's for the excellent care given to their mother during her stay.

Calling hours will be 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday (10/13/2025) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.
Funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. on Monday, in the funeral home.
