Esther Jane Kimes, Sharon, formerly of S. Otter St., Mercer, passed away peacefully of natural causes at 10:00 p.m. Thursday (9-13-2012), in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 93. She was born June 13, 1919 in Jackson Center, (Mercer County) the daughter of Harry Lee and Hattie E. Gorden Clark. She was employed as a cook for more than twenty years at Countryside Convalescent Home, East Lackawannock Township, and she previously worked in the same capacity at Grove City College. A homemaker, she loved attending church services and she also enjoyed dancing, and playing bingo. Esther was an excellent cook and was well known for her delicious homemade rolls. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a source of great pride for her, she always cherished the times she shared with them over the years. She will be remembered for her many acts of kindness and her willingness to help others in their time of need. Surviving are: two daughters, Harriet I. Workman and her husband Jim, Mercer; and Bonnie J. Silvis, Sharon; six grandchildren, Cindy Flournoy, Linda Kitchen, Judy Watt, Jennifer Adams, Arlene Silvis and Christopher Silvis; ten great grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Latshaw, Colorado. Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Kimes, her son, Robert H. Timblin, Jr.; her granddaughter, Debra Jean Adams; and two brothers, Robert C. Clark and Glenn A. Clark.
