Esther DeAngelis, 81, of Bridgeville, PA, formerly of Sharpsville, PA, passed away Tuesday morning, June 23, 2026, in Concordia South Hills, PA.
Mrs. DeAngelis was born on May 28, 1945, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Frank and Fannie (Zomparelli) Calderone. She was a graduate of Chartiers Valley High School and attended Point Park College, Pittsburgh, where she earned an associate degree in business administration.
She worked as a secretary to the administrator at St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in Sharpsville. More recently, Esther worked in the same capacity at the former Plaza Travel in Hermitage.
Her husband, Angelo DeAngelis, whom she married on August 1, 1970, passed away on May 10, 2003.
A dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, she looked forward to supporting them in all of their activities, especially her grandchildren’s hockey, lacrosse and baseball games. Additionally, she supported all of her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews in all of their events.
Esther was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Sharpsville.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Richardson and her husband, Todd, of Concord, OH; a son, Thomas DeAngelis and his wife, Amy, of Scott Twp., PA; four grandchildren, Mathew Richardson, Dominic, Christopher and Joseph DeAngelis. Also surviving is a sister, Mary Carol Len, of South Fayette, PA.
In addition to her parents and husband, Esther was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Calderone.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Esther DeAngelis to support Vanadium Woods benevolent care program. Gifts can be made in c/o Asbury Foundation, 700 Bower Hill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday (06/30/2026) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.
Mass of Christian Burial will 11 a.m. on Wednesday (07/01/2026) in St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 311 West Ridge Rd., Sharpsville, PA, with Rev. John Miller, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
