A funeral service will be Wednesday for Ernest C. Pegg Jr. of Sharon, who passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 6, 2015, in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 73. Mr. Pegg was born Aug. 28, 1941, in Sharon, a son of Ernest C. Pegg, Sr. and Viola B. Stafford Pegg. He was a 1959 graduate of Sharon High School and served with the Army from 1963 to 1966. Ernie retired from Wheatland Tube, where he was employed for 36 years as an electrician. He will be remembered as a man who loved people and led by example. He enjoyed helping with events at South Pymatuning Community Church and spending precious time with his family. His love for children was evident in his role as Santa Claus during the Christmas season and serving as a Cub Scout leader. Ernie enjoyed model trains, tinkering and bowling in the Wheatland Tube league at Sharpsville Bowling Center. He also was very patriotic and known for his spectacular fireworks display on the 4th of July. Surviving are his wife, at the residence, the former Diana Elaine Burnsworth McLaughlin, whom he married July 21, 1984; five sons, Michael Pegg and his wife Kelly, Disputanta, Va.; Mark Pegg and his wife Christina, Sharpsville; Timothy McLaughlin and his wife Cecilia, West Middlesex; Barry McLaughlin and his wife Lisa, Sharpsville; and Mike McLaughlin and his wife Sunday, Shenango Township; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren whom he adored; and his beloved dog, Bonnie. He also leaves two sisters, Linda Myers, West Middlesex; and Carol Black and her husband Robert, Hermitage; a brother, David Pegg, Franklin; and four nieces and four nephews. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife of 18 years, the former Barbara Jean Anderson, who passed away Aug. 28, 1982. Calling hours: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (6-9-15) in J.
