Erin Elizabeth Wombacker, 41, of Hermitage, passed away of heart failure caused by myotonic dystrophy on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
Erin was born on December 11, 1983, in Greenville, PA, a daughter of Carl and Cynthia (Hyland) Wombacker. She was a 2002 graduate of Hickory High School, where she threw discus and shotput for the track and field team, was a member of the Art Club and was the videographer of the wrestling team. Following high school, she studied to be a certified nurses assistant through Quality Life Services, Hermitage.
Erin was a member of Grace Chapel Community Church, Hermitage.
An avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan, she also had a passion for Disney and the Smurfs. Above all, she had a fierce love for her family. Erin looked forward to family functions especially birthdays and holidays.
She is survived by her parents of Hermitage; her maternal grandmother, Nancy DeGrange Settle, of Meadville; five sisters, Megan Smargiasso (Dr. Craig), of Chagrin Falls, OH, Lauren Wambacker, of St. Petersburg, FL, Jaclyn Wombacker, of Largo, FL, Alyson Wombacker, of Hermitage, and Shannon Licastro (Ryan), of Pittsburgh, PA; a brother, Jordan Wombacker, of Hermitage; and a niece and nephew, Lia and Nolan Smargiasso.
Erin was preceded in death by a niece, Ella Darlington; her maternal grandfather, Jack Hyland; and her paternal grandparents, Harold and Mary Lou Wombacker.
