Emma L. Montgomery, 81, of Sharon, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell.

Mrs. Montgomery was born on September 24, 1943, in Leechburg, PA, a daughter of the late John and Martha Mae (Cline) Shaner. She was a 1961 graduate of the former West Deer Twp. School and earned her bachelor's degree in home economics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

She was employed as a home economics teacher, retiring from Springdale High School.

Her husband, Robert C. Montgomery, whom she married on August 7, 1962, passed away on January 16, 2023.

Emma enjoyed crafting, cooking and was considered a master seamstress. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Brian Montgomery, Sharon, and Devin Montgomery, Hermitage; two grandchildren, Jonah Montgomery, Akron, OH, and Brianna Montgomery, Ellwood City, PA; and three great-grandchildren, Nora, Maya and Emma Schuster. Also surviving is a sister, Cindy Heuser, Florida.

In addition to her parents and husband, Emma was preceded in death by a son, Sean Montgomery; and three siblings, Sue, John "Jack" and Carol.

There will be a private memorial held at a later date.
