Emma Edith Jackson, 93, of New Castle went to be with her savior at 7:00 p.m. Thursday (10-29-15). She was born on March 16, 1922 in Gastonia, North Carolina (Gaston County) one of five children born to Frank G. and Mertrue Dee Hambrick. Emma was brought to New Castle where she was raised and spent her entire life. She worked in the Housekeeping department at George Washington Jr. High School in New Castle for many years. She belonged to the New Castle Revival Center where she was the mother of the church, and had taught Sunday school in years past. She is survived by her daughter Atheldra Christian White, New Castle, three sons, Rev. Dr. Cleophus Allen Jackson and his wife Jenny, New Castle, Leslie Jackson and his wife Neelia, Dorchester Massachusetts, and Sanford Jackson of New Castle, and a sister Areitha Morgan, Laurel, MD. A loving grandmother and great grandmother she leaves 35 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 40 great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends to cherish her memory. In addition to her parents and her former husband William Jackson, Emma was preceded in death by her son David W. Jackson, and a daughter Kathleen Stewart along with two brothers; Frank and David Hambrick and one sister Dorothy Hambrick Robinson. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday (11-5-15) in the Prevailing Word World Outreach Center 114 Oakland Ave. A funeral service will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Center followed by her interment at Castle View Memorial Gardens.
