Obituary

Emilie Kroko, 1290 Kimberly Road, Sharon, Pa., passed away unexpectedly Sunday (12-21-08) at 4:45 p.m. in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System of natural causes. She was 85.
Mrs. Kroko was born on July 6, 1923 in Sharon the daughter of Michael Sulek and Anna Kunaj Fabri Sulek.
She graduated from Fredonia Schools.
In her earlier years, she was employed by the former National Castings Divisions of Midland-Ross Corp., Sharon. She also worked for Golden Dawn Foods, Sharon, Tri State Foods, and Nordic Fisheries both Pittsburgh. More recently, she enjoyed helping to prepare food for her son's restaurant and bar, the Orangeville Tavern, where she had worked from 1988 until 2001.
Mrs. Kroko was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, and their Widows Club.
During her children's school years, she volunteered her time with the Sharon High School Boosters and was a familiar face at all the Sharon Tiger games.
She enjoyed cooking and was an avid card player belonging to several bridge clubs over the years.
She was a member of the Farrell Lioness Club.
Her husband Joseph Kroko whom she married on May 14, 1949, passed away on November 15, 1994.
She leaves her daughter Mary Beth Jacobs and her husband David, Conneaut Lake, Pa., three sons, Matthew L. Kroko, Meadville, Michael J. Kroko and his wife Remy, Aliso Viejo, CA., John E. Kroko, Sharpsville, Pa., one sister Anna Mae Sulek Racketa, four grandchildren Timothy J. and Daniel E. Jacobs, Fallon N. and Misha Kroko.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Susan Sulek Chalupka, four brothers, Andrew Sulek, Michael Sulek Jr., John Fabri, and Paul Fabry.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Joseph's Church 79 Case Ave., Sharon Pa. 16146, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Calling hours: 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday (12-23-08) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon.
Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday (12-24-08) at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church 79 Case Ave., Sharon, with Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor as celebrant.
Entombment: St. Rose Cemetery Mausoleum, Hermitage.
